Server operations

Checks, diagnostics, updates and backups for PalmOrder Server.

After the system is put into operation, the administrator monitors server health and checks whether the accounting system takes documents from inbox in time. The administrator also creates backups and verifies update results.

Check

  • the server is running and the control panel opens;
  • the log has no repeated authentication, table or file-access errors;
  • the accounting system takes processed documents from inbox;
  • outbox contains only current files required by devices;
  • active devices have the expected syncName and exchange path.

Backups and updates

A backup must include configuration, the server state database and all working directories. Stop the server normally before copying palmorder.sqlite.

Check after changes

After changing the network, paths, server version or mobile-application configuration, repeat a short end-to-end check: download a table to a device and send one test document to inbox. Use First exchange as the basis.
