PalmOrder works only with devices that have been paired with the new server. The server stores separate access data for every device, its syncName, license type and last activity time.
Setup sequence
- Configure the PalmOrder Server address in the mobile application.
- Pair the device with the server.
- On the device, run Download exchange file to get
exchange.xmlwith the available profiles. - If needed, send
preferences.xml,tables_columns.xml, print forms and other configuration files throughoutbox. - Run an exchange and check the log on the device and server.
The end-to-end check for these steps is described in First exchange.
What identifies a device
An administrator assigns syncName while approving pairing. It is a stable name used in the log and to select device-specific inbox and outbox directories. It must be unique among active devices.
The access secret is created during pairing and stored by the application. Do not add it to preferences.xml, exchange.xml or other files in outbox.
