The accounting system integrates with PalmOrder through the inbox and outbox file directories. It does not need to implement the mobile client network protocol itself.
Data for devices
The accounting system writes to outbox:
exchange.xmland other configuration files;- XML tables with reference data, stock, prices, routes and other data;
- images and ordinary files required by the mobile application.
Table XML has a <table> root element. PalmOrder Server recognizes this file and creates an SQLite database in its cache when a device requests it.
Documents from devices
PalmOrder Server writes documents to inbox as separate XML files. The accounting system must:
- find a new file;
- read and validate the document;
- post it or return an error under the rules of the specific integration;
- move or delete a successfully processed file so it is not imported again.
The server stores files sent by a device separately from documents in inbox/files.
Device-specific paths
By default, all devices use the shared inbox and outbox. An administrator can assign one or both directories to a specific syncName. See Data storage for details.
